NEW ALBUM OUT NOW! "THE JUNCTION OF THE TWO RIVERS"
Yeah thats right. We finished recording sometime around April,
had a month of other stuff to do in May, then started mixing in
June. Then had a break for 6 weeks. Then came back, mixed some more,
mastered with Zlaya at studio 101 in Amsterdam Theres a bit of a
rave about the recording process on the BLOG if you are curious.
The album is called THE JUNCTION OF THE TWO RIVERS
and has 12 songs on it. You can check some tunes out in the meantime
on MySpace. You can get a sneak preview at Myspace, see some pics
and stories about the recordings on the Blog or for those of you
(like me) with better things to do than sit around listening to
crap quality Mp3s while your attention span degenerates behind your
pc...you can wait till the real thing is available...things are
looking up!
WHAT ELSE HAS BEEN HAPPENING?
Its been a busy 18 months or so. Real busy. Not that we have been
out madly touring around or anything like that. Its just that other
projects have been taking a front seat for a while - the release
earlier this year of Parne Gadjes album on the Smoked Label (the
other group we all play in), and last year the production and release
of Davie Lawsons debut album. And before that we had the recording,
production and release of Kamal Hors album "The dance of the
Lute". Also, 2006/2007 saw consecutive tours of Australia for
Big Low, more general label-running type stuff and well...what can
I say, life has been hectic! Actually what we need is a manager,
someone to run the label, a secretary, a publicist, a studio caretaker,
someone to solder microphone cables, a baby sitter and someone to
wash the van and take the dog for walks...if we had all that wed
be making 3 albums a year at least. Despite the craziness we have
managed to keep recording, rehearsing and playing the odd show.
There is footage of a song from a show at The Naked Song Festival
on YOUTUBE. That was back in May in Eindhoven - it was a great gig
and the footage is ok too except that the gsm image suts down before
the song finishes - oh, well, as my friend Will would say "ya
get that on the big jobs".
